Documenting Afghanistan is an independent Afghan Media project. Our project runs on donations and a collective of volunteer editors, writers, artists and more from across the globe.
Documenting Afghanistan is as a decolonial project; we work primarily with communities directly affected by the ongoing violence in Afghanistan and neighboring regions.
Documenting Afghanistan is anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-sectarian and pro Afghan unity through social justice.
Documenting Afghanistan also provides support for aspiring Afghan journalists by working closely with writers to develop their skills. Through sharing media contacts and networks, DA intends to help find steady employment for Afghan writers and journalists in the local and international media industry.
We work with fixers, stringers, journalists, photographers and videographers across the country to help visiting journalists or those interested in Afghanistan to get the information or footage needed for accurate reporting
